Should I remove my card before transferring ownership?

If you don't want your card paying for a workspace you no longer own, yes. Cancel and remove it first; otherwise it stays on file and is charged until the new owner replaces it.

It depends on whether you mind your card staying on the workspace.

When you transfer a paid workspace, the subscription stays active and your card stays on file. The new owner gets billing access immediately and should add their own card, but until they do, your card is charged at the next renewal. If you trust them to swap it promptly, you can just transfer and remind them.

If you would rather not leave your card on a workspace you no longer own, remove it first: cancel the plan (Manage, then Cancel, which keeps Pro until the period ends), then use Remove on Plans and billing. Then transfer. The new owner adds their own card and resumes Pro before the period ends, or the workspace lapses to Free and they re-upgrade.

Either way, the new owner controls billing after the transfer. Stripe Connect payouts are tied to you personally and never transfer. See transferring ownership and removing your payment method.
