Stack suggestions

The Suggestions panel reads only your map, then points out two things worth a second look: tools that overlap, and gaps a stack like yours usually fills. It is a helper, not a nag: open it when you want a second opinion, and hide the hint badge whenever you like.

Open it from the lightbulb on the left rail of the map editor. A small badge on the rail shows how many suggestions are live.

What it flags

Suggestions are rule-based and derived entirely from the nodes already on your canvas (their integration category) plus the map's category. Nothing leaves your browser, and they update live as you add, remove, or retype nodes - so the panel always reflects the map in front of you, not a stale snapshot.

Each card shows the observation, the example / overlapping tools as logos, and an outcome line (after the →) that spells out the trade-off, so you can weigh having the tool against not having it:

• Overlap - two or more tools doing the same job, in a category where one vendor is usually enough: database, authentication, payments, observability, analytics, CRM, support desk, marketing, storefront, finance, HR, team chat, CMS, and automation. Example: "2 database tools → Consolidating to one drops a bill, an integration to maintain, and a source of drift." Multi-tool domains (frontend, backend, mobile, language, AI, infra, dev tools, workflow, blockchain, security, ops, productivity) are never flagged, because stacking those is normal.
• Gap - a capability the shape of your stack usually pairs with but is missing: observability, authentication, analytics, and payments (for a storefront). Example: "No observability yet → Without it, users report your outages before your dashboards do." with Sentry / Datadog / Grafana shown as starting points.

Hover any tool logo on a card for a quick preview - its name, categories, and a link to its site - so you can size up a suggestion without leaving the map.

The detection is real (it groups your actual nodes and checks which capabilities your map has); the rules and example tools are a curated heuristic, not an AI model.

Hiding suggestions

Prefer to work without the nudge? In the Suggestions panel, choose Hide the suggestion badge. The rail badge disappears and the panel stays available if you want to check back. The preference is remembered on this device; re-enable it any time with Show the suggestion badge.
