Why is my map read-only?
Plans · Updated Jun 22, 2026
A map can become read-only when the workspace is over Free limits, payment is in grace, or you only have viewer access.
Check your workspace role first. Viewers can inspect maps but cannot edit them. If you are an Owner, Admin, or Editor, check whether the workspace is over its current plan limits. See roles and permissions for role details.
Free workspaces can edit the two most recently updated maps. Extra maps stay visible but read-only until the workspace upgrades or trims back under the limit. See accounts and workspaces for how Free workspace limits work.
