Will a template I bought keep updating?

Your license tracks the seller's live version, so you can clone the latest anytime. You also keep a frozen snapshot from purchase even if the seller removes it.
Buying gives you a live license, not a one-time copy. You can clone the seller's latest saved version at any time for no extra charge, and you also keep a snapshot frozen at your purchase moment that you can always clone. A clone you make is your own editable map and does not change when the seller updates the original, so re-clone to pick up their newer version.
If the seller archives or deletes the template, you keep Clone-original (the purchase snapshot); only Clone-latest stops, since there is no live version to track. Your library marks it Archived or Source removed. See buying templates for the full state table.
