How does repo import work?
Maps · Updated Jun 22, 2026
Repo import scans a connected GitHub repository and drafts a map from detected services, frameworks, and dependencies.
Connect GitHub from the new map dialog, choose a repository, then let Canopy scan the repo metadata and dependency files. Canopy creates an editable draft rather than a locked diagram. See repo import for the longer setup flow.
If the scan finds more services than your plan limit allows, Canopy keeps the map within your limit and leaves the rest for later review. You can always add missing services manually.
